Selfless Edmontonians

Submitted by Rob Kroetsch

It was the day after the mass exodus from Fort McMurray. I was working as a charge nurse at one of the ER departments in Edmonton.

I was approached by one of my staff with concerns of a family that had potentially lost everything in the fires.

I was given permission by the family to try and find them a place to stay.

It truly amazes me that in just hours, friends of mine were able to get a place for this family to live, rent-free downtown. They were even able to fully furnish the home.

It really blew my mind how selfless Edmonton was.

The absolute outpouring of help made me proud and I was happy I was one small part of it.
